Overview

Welcome to our Excellent Adventure community. This Privacy Policy outlines how we manage the personal information of our members and guests. We recognize that privacy is a matter of trust, and we are committed to protecting the data you share with us. The goal of this document is to be transparent about how we collect, use, and safeguard your information so you can focus on the trail ahead with peace of mind.

Collection, use and disclosure of personal information

We collect information that helps us collaboratively organize enjoyable outdoor adventures. This typically includes:

  1. Contact Details: Names and email addresses for trip coordination and newsletters.
  2. Media: Photos or videos taken during group outings.

Why we need it: We use this data to manage event registrations, communicate logistics, and plan for upcoming events.

Your Control: You can control what elements of your profile are visible to the broader registered community. You may change these settings by navigating to your Profile, selecting Edit, and Editing your Privacy Settings.

Disclosure: We do not sell your data. Personal information is only shared with trip leads or organizers who require it for specific outings. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members during an incident.

Children’s Privacy: Our activities are generally designed for adults. If a minor participates in a family-sanctioned event, we require clear parental consent and will treat their data with the highest level of sensitivity, using plain language to ensure any communication is easily understood.

Giving consent for others

Our registration process may allow members to sign up guests or "bundle" family members. If you provide personal data for another person, you are responsible for ensuring that you have their explicit permission to share their information with us. By submitting their details, you confirm that the individual (or their legal guardian) has consented to this Privacy Policy.

Third-parties applications

We use third-party tools to help our group run smoothly, such as website hosting services and email platforms for newsletters. We select partners who demonstrate a commitment to data security and who are prepared to respond to data requests (such as the right to be forgotten) in accordance with modern privacy standards.
